There are three identical White-tailed bumblebee species. So how can we tell them apart? The answer: by analysing their DNA 🧬 In Britain, the only species thought to be present was the true White-tailed bumblebee. It wasn’t clear if the Northern White-tailed bumblebee and the Cryptic bumblebee were two other species or different colour forms of the White-tailed bumblebee. But examination of their DNA revealed them to be three separate species. The queens, females and males of the true White-tai
